WELCOME TO MARTHA.SIMON.HOME
Lifestyle Concierge
MARTHA
I failed retirement...
After retiring from a 30 year career as a non-profit executive, I was excited to do all the "things" I never had time to do while working full-time. I got on my bike, explored new hikes, kayaked the San Francisco Bay, spent countless hours trail building on our expansive property in Tahoe, enrolled in all kinds of educational courses,
and the list goes on and on...
While all of this fun was FUN, I realized I could also use my extra time to help others while doing what I love. So, after much encouragement and prodding from friends, I launched my little part-time lifestyle concierge biz.

I am incredibly blessed to split my time between the two most beautiful places on earth; San Francisco Bay area (Marin County) and North Lake Tahoe (Truckee). I strongly endorse a healthy work-life balance,
and in turn practice what I preach.

I am physically available in Marin County and specific areas of San Francisco
during the months of January through May, and in Tahoe during the summer months.

CLEAR THE CLUTTER, CLEAR YOUR MIND
I have always been fascinated by the way a "space" can influence our emotion. The place where we spend the most of our time (home, office, work studio, etc.) should feel GOOD. It should be the place you most want to be!
Finding harmony in a space comes from the fusion of all the senses such as smell, touch, hearing, and in particular, sight. Great design has an impact on all senses! If a space in your home doesn't feel quite right, there is usually a reason. Unless you "literally" have a full-sized elephant in the middle of your room, there are methods used to remedy a space.
If you have ever had your home professionally cleaned, you know that feeling of "ahhh" when you walk into your home without seeing the laundry half-way folded on your sofa! Sometimes, all that is involved is removing clutter or organizing a corner of chaos.
Other times, it is as simple as rearranging the furnishings you already have in your home or changing the color of a wall. It could mean, you've been trying your make your beloved grandmother's dining room table "fit", when in reality, it never will. I am inspired by the elements that create a beautiful and aesthetically pleasing interior.
I look forward to helping you create a space that you LOVE, even if that only means "tidying up"!

MAJOR DE-CLUTTER PROJECT
Past Work
The clients’ vision and taste are the guiding points of every project that Martha.Simon.Home undertakes. Spend some time looking at her previous work to see some of her most inspiring projects.
BEFORE
Barn declutter and organize
Before listing their home for sale, knowing they would eventually be packing up to move, they needed a little "tidying up"! We organized tools, hardware, stationary power tools in their storage barn. Using clear bins allowed them to see the contents easily and streamlined the moving process.
AFTER
Cleaned & Organized
YES, this was a dirty job, but all that was required was to place like items together, in clear bins and show prospective home buyers the possibilities of this barn space!
SIMPLE ORGANIZATION
Before & After
YOUR JUNK DRAWER
Everyone has a "junk drawer". This is usually the drawer in your kitchen or office where you toss everything but can never find ANYTHING...right?
YOUR JUNKÂ DRAWER ORGANIZED
Simple fix...An expandable drawer organizer.  Take everything out, discard what no longer serves you and place items back in sections where items are easy to find. It doesn't have to be "perfect"...but a sectioned drawer will remind you to keep your junk tidy!

Hiding unsightly items
Have you ever noticed that when walking into a staged home for sale or beautiful hotel or Airbnb that the bathrooms look so clean & inviting? That's because there are no toothbrushes or unsightly cords cluttering up the space! When I remodeled our primary bathroom, I wanted a clean, uncluttered vanity.  My hack? I found a pretty jewelry case at Pier One, drilled a hole in the bottom and hid our things, creating a beautiful aesthetic!
